Abstract

This critical analysis aims to elucidate the main contributions of "The Precariat's Anguish:  Work and Solidarity in Racial Capitalism," authored by Professor Dr. Ruy Braga. The book offers a thorough investigation of the labor and union crisis in the United States, which have been considerably impacted by economic globalization and neoliberalism. Diverging from conventional viewpoints, this work aims to understand the socioreproductive crisis by examining workers' experiences and perceptions, exploring the breakdown of the practical solidarities they have built. Additionally, the book highlights innovative strategies that are employed to revitalize collective labor actions, including an assessment of gender and racial dynamics.
